This is how it is..

Okay, now that you've had a good laugh, and I've completely embarrassed myself...we can get a little more serious.
Many of you reading this will already know that I was diagnosed with metastatic cancer 3 years ago. A ridiculously rare type of cancer (Myxofibrosarcoma...say that 10 times fast!) that came with a label that read ''incurable.'' Do I believe it? No. I am up for the challenge and so far have managed it well for the past 3 years, through diet, exercise, positive attitude, Acupuncture, etc. On the conventional side, I have had 3 rounds of radiation and 8 operations that have left me with a bad ass gangster limp, and painful sleepless nights..but I keep on keeping on because life is beautiful and I love my life.
I have recently been told, by the conventional world, that there is nothing else that can be done for me. The cancer is progressing slowly, but surely, and I'm left with the decision ''what the f#%k do I do now?'' I have spent many hours racking my brains, researching, crying, feeling angry, scared and fed up. The only option I have now is to seek treatment out of country, which is looking somewhat promising.
This is good. I still have options. But unfortunately these options come at a massively huge price...a whooping $30,000 at least. There aren't enough funds in my close circle to cover the costs, so this is where some big ass fundraising comes into play. Various events are already in the works and hopefully you can help. The beautiful miss Olivia is planning a wee shindig at the Prophouse in February. A silent auction is being planned by the fam and friends. My wonderful friend, Lynn,  is running a half-marathon to raise $$. Nat, Ollie and Cass have teamed up and are organizing a fabulous music event. And many others have offered their amazing talents to contribute to my cause.
At this point, I need all the help I can get, whether it be in donations of money, ideas, talents or time. I will keep you all posted on my progress and upcoming events. In the meantime if you need to contact me, please do so at clareboggan@gmail.com
Thank you all for your continuing love and support!

  4. Hello Clare, my name is Sarah and you don't know me. I'm a friend of Greg Coram's. I am in New Zealand and would like to donate some money to your cause. Also, I think I may have some friends who might like to contribute from overseas. Do you have a paypal account or something set up so that we can donate by credit card?
    Thanks!

  6. Hi Claire,
Keep fighting my friend. I love your passion for life. I would be honored to donate pieces of jewelry for auctions...etc. I also know lots of folks who make beautiful things and I'm sure they would also donate pieces. Please send me a message about any events that happen and I'll blog, tweet, and facebook them to all of my contacts. Please be in touch if I can do anything else. If you feel like it - my studio is open for the culture crawl all weekend - come say hi! xo patsy.
